Attleboro -- ARTHUR J. DESCOTEAUX JR., 37, of Pearl Street, a retired retail salesman, died Friday in Sturdy Memorial Hospital after an illness.He was the companion of Ronald G. Soucy. Born in Hinesville, Ga., on June 14, 1967, a son of Arthur J. Descoteaux Sr. of Woonsocket and Linda A. M. (Ducas) Vespia of Providence, he had lived in Attleboro for five years, previously living in Providence. Mr. Descoteaux had been a salesman in the children's department of Filene's department store in Emerald Square mall, North Attleboro, for several years before retiring because of illness.He was a former communicant of St. Michael Church, Providence. Mr. Descoteaus loved music, traveling, going to the movies, and restoring cars. Besides his parents and companion, he leaves a son, Arthur J. Carter of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two sisters, Michelle A. Descoteaux of Lewiston, Maine, and Dawn M. McGowan of Woonsocket; a stepsister, Nicole Dubois of Woonsocket; three half sisters, Angel Pugh in Florida, Tina Cookingham of East Providence and Stephanie Descoteaux of Woonsocket; his step-parents, Michelle Descoteaux and James A. Vespia, both of Woonsocket; and several nieces and nephews.A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a. M. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 12 Spruce St., Providence. Burial will be private.
